Palo Santo is a sacred wood from the Bursera graveolens tree, native to South America. The words Palo Santo mean “holy stick.” It has been burned ceremonially in various traditions of the south. Palo Santo has an intoxicating aroma and can be burned to clear negative energy from your field or “aura” and bring peace and clarity. Often called the “sage of the southern hemisphere”, Palo Santo can be used as incense to liven your home and create a feeling of sanctuary in any space. The scent of palo santo is woodsy, rich and slightly sweet. To use, light the end of the stick and allow to burn for about 30 seconds or 1 minute and then blow out. Allow the smoke to permeate your space. You can place in a small bowl or dish of non-flammable material to slowly diffuse throughout your home. Palo santo does not continuously burn like other incense. One stick of palo santo can be relit and used many times.
